A 38-year-old man lost his life in Pune, Maharashtra, when his wife reportedly punched him in the face in frustration over not being taken to Dubai for her birthday celebration, as disclosed by the police.
The tragic incident unfolded in the Wanwadi area on a Friday afternoon. The deceased, identified as real estate developer Nikhil Khanna, was the subject of an investigation that revealed his 36-year-old wife, Renuka, desired a Dubai celebration for her September 18 birthday, a wish unfulfilled by her husband.
Additionally, tensions escalated due to unmet expectations on their November 5 wedding anniversary and Renuka’s desire to attend a relative’s birthday celebration in Delhi.
A heated argument on Friday culminated in Renuka allegedly striking her husband’s nose, causing profuse bleeding and resulting in his unconsciousness. Prompted by concerned neighbors, the police transported the victim to Sassoon General Hospital, where he was declared dead.
The investigation aims to determine if the assault involved a fist or an object, with the exact cause of death pending autopsy results. Renuka is now in custody, and a murder case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 302 has been registered against her.
