Chicken Tikka Recipe : A Flavorful Indian Delight

Telugu Flash News

Chicken Tikka is a beloved Indian dish known for its tender, marinated pieces of chicken cooked to perfection, often served as an appetizer or part of a larger meal. This recipe provides step by step instructions to make this mouthwatering, flavorful dish at home.

Ingredients for making chicken tikka :

  • 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Skewers, wooden or metal

Instructions:

1. Marinate the Chicken:

In a mixing bowl, blend together yogurt, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, lemon juice, salt, and vegetable oil. Stir the ingredients thoroughly until they form a seamless marinade.

2. Prepare the Chicken:

Place the chicken pieces into the marinade, making sure to coat them thoroughly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours. For enhanced flavor, it is recommended to marinate the chicken overnight.

3. Skewer the Chicken:

If you plan to use wooden skewers, soak them in water for approximately 30 minutes to prevent them from burning. Then, thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers.

4. Cooking Options:

Grill: Before grilling, preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. To prevent sticking, brush the grates with oil. Next, position the skewers on the grill and cook, turning them occasionally, until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and acquires a delightful char, which should take approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

Oven: Preheat your oven’s broiler to high. Place the skewers on a baking sheet and broil for about 15 20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked and charred.

5. Serve:

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the skewers and place it on a serving plate. You can garnish with fresh lemon wedges and sprinkle some chaat masala for extra flavor. Serve hot with mint chutney and naan or rice.

6. Enjoy:

Chicken Tikka is best enjoyed hot and is perfect for a party, family dinner, or as an appetizer. The tender, spicy, and smoky flavors make it a favorite in Indian cuisine.

Now you can savor the delicious taste of homemade Chicken Tikka, a classic Indian dish that’s sure to please your taste buds.
