Cricket legend Michael Vaughan predicts a big year for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). After their Women’s Premier League (WPL) win under Smriti Mandhana, Vaughan believes the men’s team can clinch the IPL title too.
The WPL victory ended a 16-year title drought for the RCB franchise across both leagues. Despite a star-studded line-up over the years, the men’s team has never won the IPL. However, Mandhana’s dominant WPL win has ignited hope.
RCB’s bowling attack dominated the WPL final, restricting Delhi Capitals to a low score. Their batting then chased down the target comfortably, securing their first WPL title.
Vaughan congratulated RCB on social media and boldly predicted an IPL win for the men’s team. This would mark a historic “double” for the franchise in 2024.
Challenges remain for RCB. They lack a balanced middle order and will need strong performances to overcome their weaknesses.
Will 2024 finally be RCB’s year? With a bolstered squad and the momentum from the WPL win, they’ll be aiming to go all the way in the IPL.
