In today’s urban landscape, tall buildings and apartments are a common sight, forming what we might call a concrete jungle. These apartments are designed to cater to people’s preferences and often include multiple floors. To make it easier for residents to move around, elevators are usually installed instead of relying on stairs. However, these elevators have become a major source of concern for apartment dwellers due to poor maintenance.
Elevator problems like sudden stops, doors not opening, and getting stuck have become quite frequent, causing inconvenience and even danger to residents. In unfortunate cases, elevator accidents have led to tragic loss of life.
Recently, a disturbing incident involving a child trapped in an elevator has gained widespread attention due to a viral video circulating on social media. The video shows a distressing situation where the elevator wasn’t working, and the doors remained closed, causing great distress to the child.
Here are the details of the incident: It occurred in Gnaneshwar Enclave, located on Kursi Road in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The apartment complex houses many families. On that day, a school-going child entered the elevator and selected the desired floor. However, the elevator suddenly stopped mid-journey, and the doors wouldn’t open. Naturally, this left the child terrified. Desperate to open the elevator doors with no success, the child began pleading for help.
For about 20 agonizing minutes, the young girl went through a nightmarish experience inside the stalled elevator. Eventually, the doors opened, allowing her to exit safely. The video capturing this traumatic event has since gone viral on social media, revealing the immense fear and distress the child had to endure during those harrowing moments.
Another news from Lucknow’s Janeshwar Enclave Apartments where an innocent child was stuck in lift for 20 minutes.
The society’s lifts are poorly maintained due to cost-cutting, and I have complained about it multiple times in my own society as well.
