Operation Blue Star

Operation Blue Star

In 1984, there was a military operation called Operation Blue Star at a special place called the Golden Temple in India. The soldiers wanted to remove some people who were causing problems there. But the operation caused a lot of trouble and made people very angry.

During the 1980s, there were some people in the state of Punjab who wanted to be separate from the rest of India. They were Sikhs, and their leader was Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. They went inside the Golden Temple and refused to leave. The government decided to do something about it because it was getting dangerous.

Operation Blue Star :

The government sent soldiers to the Golden Temple to make the people inside leave. The people didn’t want to go and they fought back. The soldiers had to use big guns and tanks, and this caused a lot of damage to the Golden Temple. Many people, including innocent civilians, were hurt or killed during the fighting. The operation lasted for a few days.

After Operation Blue Star, many Sikh people were very upset and angry. They felt their holy place had been disrespected. This led to more violence and fighting between different groups of people. Sadly, the Prime Minister of India was later killed by some Sikh bodyguards, which made the situation even worse.

Operation Blue Star was a very controversial event in Indian history. It showed how difficult it can be to handle problems peacefully. The damage and hurt caused by the operation made many people sad and angry. It’s important for us to find peaceful solutions and respect each other’s religious places and beliefs.
